The undocumented husband of an Indiana woman who voted for President Trump in the 2016 election has been deported to Mexico.
Roberto Beristain, who lived with his wife Helen and their four American-born children in Mishawaka, was arrested when he went in for his annual check-in with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement last month.

The 44-year-old owner of Eddie’s Steak Shed was deported late Tuesday night despite his family’s efforts to keep him the country, the South Bend Tribune reported.
It was all very sudden and abrupt, Beristain explained in a press release shared with the newspaper by his attorneys. He was being held in a detention facility when “they suddenly told me it was time to go,” the father of four said.
