On Sunday, Luis Pedrote and the families of Armando Gutierrez and Francisca Lino joined hands at the front of the sanctuary in Lincoln United Methodist Church, in the Pilsen neighborhood, as members of the congregation prayed on their behalves.
Pedrote, Gutierrez and Lino will come together on July 11 for a morning press conference in front of the Chicago headquarters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where they plan to ask Immigration officials to give them more time in the U.S. But if officials don’t grant their requests, Pedrote, Gutierrez and Lino could face imminent deportation.
