An Arivaca man shot a suspected illegal immigrant inside his home Monday night, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The 32-year-old man was in critical condition at Banner University Medical Center-South with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the PCSD.

The 71-year-old homeowner called 911 shortly after 7 p.m. to report that he’d shot an intruder, Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Gress said.
When deputies arrived at the home on Arivaca Road, they found the intruder outside suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, Gress said.
The homeowner said he’d been awakened by banging noises, found the intruder inside his home and shot him, Gress said. The intruder ran outside and collapsed.
