SEVEN suspected illegal immigrants were arrested yesterday after high winds blew their yacht on to a mud bank.
They were onboard a 28ft sailing boat trying to get into the mouth of Suffolk’s River Ore.
But it was low water and they got into difficulties and coastguards and the RNLI were alerted.
A lifeboat towed them to Orford where Border Agency officials took seven men into custody.
Caron Hill, of Aldeburgh lifeboat, said: “The lifeboats were launched after a report of a 28-foot yacht stranded on the mud at the mouth of the River Ore.
