SAN JOSE — In a bold rebuke to President Trump’s tough talk on sanctuary cities and widespread rumors that federal raids are imminent, city and community leaders on Wednesday said they are ready to unleash hundreds of volunteers to aid undocumented immigrants targeted with deportation.
With cell phone cameras rolling, volunteers with PACT — People Acting in Community Together — plan to document any action by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, protect immigrant rights and provide support to those arrested as well as those left behind.
