Portland Community College announced on Thursday that it plans to open a center for undocumented immigrants looking to attend community college.

This fall, the school’s Rock Creek campus north of Highway 26 will open the DREAM Center — or Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors — offering outreach, education advocacy and community resources to undocumented students and their families, as well as funding for urgent and emergency services.
The center will be the first of its kind at an Oregon community college or university, according to the school.
It is meant to help students currently enrolled in the national Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program
