WorldStage Newsonline– The Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS) said it has arrested and repatriated 450 illegal immigrants in Edo State in the first quarter of the year.
Comptroller of NIS in Edo State, Mr David Adi, who spoke when management of Okomu Oil Company presented a refurbished Hilus van to the command said the repatriated illegal immigrants were majorly from Niger Republic, Mali and Ghana.

He noted that assistance from partners such as Okomu oil company would help the command achieve its statutory duties.
He stated that the repatriated foreigners were irregular immigrants because “they had no regular travel documents and credible means of livelihood, hence constituted security risk for our country.”
