KLANG – The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency nabbed 10 illegal immigrants attempting to sneak into the country in an early morning operation in Selangor waters.
District maritime director Captain Abu Zaki Mohammad said among those arrested were the vessel’s Indonesian captain and two of his crew, as well as seven Bangladeshi nationals.

“They were nabbed about a nautical mile away from shore, near Pulau Pintu Gedung at around 2.30am on Wednesday,” he said.
Those nabbed were between 27 and 39 years old and were aboard an unregistered vessel.
Early investigations found that none of them had valid travel documents, and they were later escorted to DM4 Jetty in Selangor for further investigations.
The case is being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Anti-Trafficking in Persons
