WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham can get fired up and angry. He can be lighthearted and sarcastic. He can go off script or stick to his talking points.
Rarely does the South Carolina Republican become overcome with emotion.

But on Thursday, as the brain cancer diagnosis of his close friend, U.S. Sen. John McCain, loomed large, Graham delivered an impassioned plea to colleagues to get on what he called the right side of history when it comes to the immigration debate.
At a press conference with U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., to unveil the “Dream Act” — which would provide pathways to citizenship for certain undocumented immigrants brought to the country illegally as children — Graham described a moral imperative for his president and his party.
