Immigration DG Mustafar Ali says more than 30,000 illegals deported since beginning of the year.
PUTRAJAYA: Employers found guilty of hiring illegal immigrants should be subjected to maximum punishment, says Immigration director-general Mustafar Ali.

He said the maximum punishment should be imposed to make them realise the department was serious about the employment of illegal immigrants following sufficient time having been given to them (employers) to register their workers under the E-Card programme which expired on June 30.
“Employers who harbour illegal immigrants face stern action including fines, imprisonment and whipping. This time we will go all out to push for these stubborn employers to be punished,” he told reporters at the department’s Aidilfitri celebration here yesterday.
