A Pakistani illegal worker holding a recognisance form was jailed by Shatin Magistrates’ Courts yesterday (August 24).
During an anti-illegal worker operation conducted on August 21, Immigration Department (ImmD) investigators raided a stall in Mong Kok. A male Pakistani illegal worker, aged 49, was arrested. When intercepted, he was found dismantling the stall. Upon identity checking, he produced for inspection a recognisance form issued by the ImmD, which prohibits him from taking employment. Further investigation revealed that he was a non-refoulement claimant.
