An illegal immigrant caught looking after a major cannabis farm in a Kirkby house was locked up for 28 months.

Quan Manh Nguyen was arrested when police raided the house on Crossland Road, Southdene, on May 30.
Police found 223 cannabis plants growing in four rooms with a potential street value of £178,000. There was also sophisticated equipment including 47 lighting units and transformers.
The electricity meter had been by-passed, causing an annual loss of £50,000.
Nguyen, 36, came into the UK illegaly in the back of a lorry, hoping to provide for his wife and two young children in Vietnam
His lawyer Tom Watson told the court that
