HINGHAM – Selectmen are tip-toeing into the immigration debate, with a proposed proclamation that Hingham welcomes one and all – including both legal and undocumented immigrants.
Selectmen introduced the proclamation at the Sept. 26 evening meeting. They’ll hold further discussion and then vote on Oct. 24, following a month of public comment.
The proposal – which Selectmen Chairman Mary Power described as “a welcoming statement” – says the town respects human rights for all, and will provide schools and other services
