BORDER force staff were told not to waste their time interrogating potential illegal immigrants, a leaked memo has revealed.
Staff at Heathrow were told by the airport’s deputy director of Border Security Command, Nick Jariwalla, that extremists arriving from Europe was the “number one” priority.

He said checking documents of visa holders who already had permission to enter the UK was “duplicating the work of visa officers” so was a “poor use of our time”.
The document – titled “Protecting the Public” and leaked to the Mail on Sunday – told Border Force guards: “We are not sufficiently focused on the threat from passengers seeking to enter on EU documents.”
