ANN ARBOR, MI – As another response to President Donald Trump’s vows to ramp up federal immigration enforcement, the Ann Arbor City Council is considering a resolution reaffirming the city’s position against cooperating with the feds and instead providing more protections for undocumented immigrants.
City officials have publicly released a copy of the proposed resolution that is expected to easily pass when it goes to council for approval on May 1.

“This is the much-awaited companion resolution to our recently passed policy on non-solicitation of immigration status,” said Council Member Chuck Warpehoski, D-5th Ward, who is co-sponsoring the measure with Mayor Christopher Taylor and Council Member Jack Eaton, D-4th Ward.
