Four Mexican immigrants living in Longmont will push lawmakers to threaten government shutdown

Four Mexican immigrants living in Longmont are flying to Washington, D.C., on Sunday to ask Congress to decline to approve a budget by the Jan. 19 deadline unless a bill is passed to protect undocumented residents from deportation.
Three of the four activists — Juan, Hugo and Oscar Juarez — are brothers and recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, created by President Barack Obama in 2012 to protect more than 700,000 people nationwide who arrived in the U.S. as children from being deported.
The Juarez siblings will be joined by 20-year-old Alex Ortega at the Capitol.
