The Belawan Immigration Office said it would deport four Cambodian citizens who were arrested recently by the Navy for alleged illegal fishing activities in the country’s waters.
The office’s immigration surveillance and prosecution division head, Ridha Sahputera, said the deportation of the four Cambodian citizens would be conducted in November. Immigration authorities are coordinating with the Cambodian Embassy in Jakarta to schedule the deportation, he further said.

“We don’t want to hold them here too long. We hope the Cambodian Embassy can understand this so the deportation process can start immediately,” Ridha told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
